i joined uw formula electric in fall of 2023. it was one of the best decisions of my university experience in terms of personal growth. i've worked with the driveline, chassis, and tractive teams. aside from my biggest contribution to the team - the 2025 braking system, i've also worked on:

optimization and lightweighting of our motor output shaft using ansys mechanical. i reduced the weight by 43% (!!) compared to the previous year's output shaft.

designing and manually machining a custom waterproof status indicator light enclosure. dfm was critical here, and it made me a much better machinist. i also calculated and simulated steady state heat dissipation, since the enclosure is a heatsink for the led board.

working in a team to design a dynamometer fixture for our motor, concentric within 0.005" of the dynamometer. we conducted fea studies to ensure the motor mount would withstand the peak motor torque.

designing a carbon fiber fan shroud, designing the mould, and manufacturing the part

machining components for our custom differential to 0.05mm (0.002") tolerances

and a handful of other design, machining, and testing projects.
